Kindergarten Registration
Our Lady of Grace School holds an open enrollment night for all prospective incoming
Kindergarten students during the month of February each year. At the Kindergarten
Registration Night, families are asked to fill out registration packets and provide
us with copies of birth certificates, immunization records and a Baptismal
certificate (if applicable), as well as the registration fee for the upcoming year.
We process everything and invite everyone with complete applications to bring their child
to a Mock Kindergarten Day on a Saturday in early March. The Mock Kindergarten Day
is a chance for our faculty and staff to assess the social readiness of the students.
This is not an academic assessment. We are looking to see if the student is able
to follow and comply with given directions. The Mock Kindergarten Day lasts 3 hours.
After the Mock Kindergarten Day we begin the acceptance process. Depending on the number
of applicants, we may have to deny acceptance in some instances.
In the cases where enrollment interests are higher than spaces available,
we use the following as a means of prioritizing applicants:
- 1. Siblings of currently enrolled students
- 2. OLG Parishioners
- 3. Catholic Non-Parishioners
- 4. Non-Catholics
You will be notified of your admission status by phone and in writing. Those that are denied are welcome to request placement on a waiting list and should an opening become available, we will contact you. It is important to recognize that OLG follows state guidelines and does not accept a student into Kindergarten for the upcoming year if the child’s birth date is after September 1st of the same calendar year.
